Oooo this really relates to a post I’m finishing up on sacramentals and what is “real” and what isn’t. I might have to reference this post in it!

Beautiful reflection!

Ah, when an idea overlaps like that, I often think it’s the Holy Spirit moving, so cool! Looking forward to reading your piece <3

Relationships are real. When the world around us is falling apart, we can focus on our relationships, both lasting and fleeting. As an introvert, it's hard for me to nurture relationships but that's the best way to keep moving forward.

Also, your story about the imaginary flowers gave me a boost this morning. Just because something didn't happen, doesn't mean it's not true. I love thinking about that since I was introduced to the concept in adult faith formation. (Non-humanities engineering education here!)

Mary, I love these thoughts. Yes to the importance of relationships, yes to centering in the present moment, and yes to adult faith formation too! :) I had a little card on my cork board for the longest time reminding me that "just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not happening." This reminds me to keep hope in the bigness of God and how He moves in ways that are often beyond our understanding. The world is falling apart by every measure but I think you might really like this quote from James Bryan Smith: "I am one in whom Christ dwells and delights. I live in the unshakeable kingdom of God. The kingdom is not in trouble, and neither am I." The kingdom, though invisible, is real and active today. Glad to be with you in it, friend!

I sent you a message on insta and wasn’t sure if it got lost in a message request folder or something so thought I’d reach out here too. :) I’d love to connect.
