This photograph reminds me of what it must be like when someone realizes that God loves them unconditionally. They have a joy, explosion of color, purple!
Love the topic of awe - We tend to lose that childhood sense of awe as we become adults and then come back around to it the older we get. At least, I feel that in my own life. After your podcast, I listened to Strange New World's Understanding Easter - Part Five: What Resurrection Is For. Resurrection certainly is astonishing. I highly recommend this episode and the whole series actually. I love the idea that Jesus's resurrection is a guidepost pointing us toward the miracle of a beloved community living out peace, justice, love, and joy. Whenever I encounter glimpses of the Kingdom of Heaven, I'm in awe.
Recently, I had a feeling of awe involving late great Central Park Zoo escapee, Flaco the owl. (Side note - I agree that owls are amazing in any case!) To know that he thrived in freedom and flight for over a year after spending his first 13 years in flightless captivity? What a wonder!
