The Dance
How the people, tools, energy, words and movements in an environment come together to create an experience (for better for worse), and how we can accept God's invitation to dance wherever we are.
This week on the Raised Catholic podcast, I’ll compare my experience of a solo mass followed by a solo meal at the counter at one of my favorite breakfast places. When you sit alone, you can observe how the people, tools, words, sounds, and movements all come together to create an experience. When it’s done well, it can feel something like a dance. If you’ve ever left a meal or a mass feeling fuller, more joyful, and even inspired, then you’ve seen the dance in action. And we’ve all had experiences in both places in which the dance is much, much harder to find.
Listen to episode 140: The Dance at the Raised Catholic podcast (or read the transcript), and let me know in the comments what made your recent experience of a mass or a meal one that you remembered, for better or worse. Let’s talk about it together.
Also, this week on Instagram, I wrote a little poem about hydrangeas that once were white but with time and changes in the soil, are turning shades of pink. To me, these blooms were preaching a homily that some American clergy might need to hear.
Thanks to those who are sharing the My Little Epiphanies substack and the Raised Catholic podcast with friends. I really appreciate your help in growing our community and would love to say hello in the comments (I’ll always write back!).
Blessings on you, your dear ones, and your week ahead, friends. You are so, so loved.
