Hi friends. This summer I am digging into a new project which I hope to tell you more about soon, but in the meantime, I thought it was a good time to bring back a summer series on contemplation which might be helpful for you. Originally aired in 2022, the ten-part Raised Catholic podcast series explores contemplation with a variety of methods: contemplating with music, art, scripture, nature and story. We’ll contemplate inside and outside of church walls, explore tactile prayer and more, and as I model each kind of contemplation for you, I hope you’ll find your own unique experience in a way that is fruitful for you in your communion and walk with God.
This week on the Raised Catholic podcast, we’re contemplating with story, and there is no shortage of stories from which to choose. A favorite book, movie, fable, or even a tv show can offer material from which to contemplate. You might even look to someone’s life story as a subject of contemplation, because I believe that if we knew the details and inner struggle of each person’s life, it would be a book that we could never put down, a movie we’d never want to end. (Your life is like that, too!)
Listen to Raised Catholic episode 184: Summer of Contemplation Week Two: Contemplating Story on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts (or read the transcript), and then come on back here to the comments to let me know the story you chose to contemplate this week. I hope to see you there!
