Hi friends. This summer I am digging into a new project which I hope to tell you more about soon, but in the meantime, I thought it was a good time to bring back a summer series on contemplation which might be helpful for you. Originally aired in 2022, the ten-part Raised Catholic podcast series explores contemplation with a variety of methods: contemplating with music, art, scripture, nature and story. We’ll contemplate inside and outside of church walls, explore tactile prayer and more, and as I model each kind of contemplation for you, I hope you’ll find your own unique experience in a way that is fruitful for you in your communion and walk with God.
This week on the Raised Catholic podcast, we’re contemplating with music, a no-brainer of a start for me as a preschool music teacher and church cantor, but whatever style or piece of music you pick to contemplate this week, I hope you’ll let me know about your experience in the comments. I hope to see you there!
Listen to Raised Catholic episode 183: Summer of Contemplation 2024 Week One: Contemplating Music on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts (or read the transcript), and then come on back to the comments to let me know which piece of music you chose to contemplate this week.
I smiled when I saw the title of this week's podcast. A search for podcasts on contemplative prayer was how I originally found you! I really could use more contemplation in my life this summer so I'm looking forward to revisiting this series!
