Retreat Takeaways - Stations of the Cross - Circle of Life
God knows what it is like to go round and round in this life.
Hi friends. In this week’s episode of the Raised Catholic podcast, I’m starting to unpack some takeaways from a recent retreat experience. During my weekend away, there were certain words and symbols that kept popping up, and when that happens, I have learned to pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is trying to show me. In this short series, I’ll be reflecting on some of those symbols as I process through that experience - trees, anchors, bells, time, and open hands.
If you were born and raised Catholic, this kind of noticing and contemplation may not have been a way you were ever taught to pray, but I can tell you from experience that God will and does use any means at his disposal to reach out and connect with us. Learning to hear his still, small voice as he brings things to our attention is a beautiful way to pray, and it makes living this life a bit of an adventure as well!
In this episode, I’ll reflect on a little epiphany I received while in the chapel one day. I have been a part of this retreat house for twenty years, but somehow God brought something new to my attention there that I had never perceived before. He is so good like that, always making all things new!

And if you haven’t experienced a retreat in a while, friend, I hope you’ll consider giving yourself that gift in 2024, because God would love nothing more than time with you, and you deserve it. Really.
