As I describe in this week’s episode, the Raised Catholic podcast is making a shift, and that shift is all about you. As you might know, I started the podcast in late 2020 as a response to increasing clericalist behavior and divisive political rhetoric among many American Catholic clergy and other public Catholic voices. I sought to give cradle Catholics and others on the margins of faith a way to explore and understand their faith practice for themselves in a non-judgmental space. As many of us have lost our faith communities, I hoped to give some support to my fellow Catholics in pursuing their relationship with God, both inside and outside of church walls.
I’ve covered quite a few topics on the podcast over the last almost-three years and 137 weekly episodes, but I’ve never had a way to have us explore these topics together as a community until now. I hope my Substack page and newsletter will be the place where we can gather together, offer support and information, ask questions, and encourage each other on our faith journeys without the pitfalls of a social media platform. Here, it’s just us - kind, compassionate, curious seekers journeying with God who is crazy about us and who walks with us with every step.
Hear more about this shift to a podcast community on this week’s episode (or read the episode transcript), and please take a moment to be sure you’re subscribed here at Substack. And if you’re feeling extra holy (j/k), would you please share this post with a friend or five? I really appreciate it, friend. When it comes to this next chapter for the podcast, I literally can’t do it without you!
Thanks a million for subscribing and sharing (there are big red buttons below for you to use to easily do all those things), and if you are reading this post, will you be sure to say ‘hello’ in the comments and tell us a little bit about yourself? I’m positively giddy about the idea that all of you nice people will finally get to know each other, and I’m so very glad you’re here.
