As we continue to revisit the summer series on contemplation, this week finds us contemplating art. And whether you’d consider yourself an art aficionado or not, it’s just true that art is just about everywhere we look: on our screens, in architecture, in advertisements, in decor, in furniture and even in the fonts we choose.
Choosing art to contemplate for this week’s episode wasn’t challenging for me - my walls are filled with art from photographs to prints from my favorite visual prayer artist, Scott Erickson. Spending time with a piece of art and letting God speak to us through it, whether in a museum or anywhere else in the world, is a good way to slow ourselves down to let God - who is beauty itself - in.
Listen to Raised Catholic episode 190: Summer of Contemplation 2024 Week Eight: Contemplating Art on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts (or read the transcript), and then meet me back here in the comments to let me know what art you chose to contemplate this week. You know I’d love to see you there!
