This week on the Raised Catholic podcast, I’m taking my inspiration from two fabulous gospel concerts I got to see in the span of seven days. Each one led me to discover and listen to even more gospel music in the days that followed, and the message in all of this music is hope.
I’m not talking about the sugary-sweet, Hallmark-card kind of hope, but the hard-fought, hard-won hope that is the fruit of real encounter with the living God who does intercede, rescue, heal, and transform us from where we are to where we need to be. And if God’s not done with us, what does that mean for our beleaguered church? How can we move forward in hope for what God has for us even now.
Listen to episode 145: God’s Not Done on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts (or read the transcript) and then let’s meet back here to share some hopeful signs of where God is working in our lives. I’ll start.
As always, I offer lots of resources in the show notes so you can explore that week’s topic on your own, but among this week’s resources are timely podcasts and articles which are real-time updates on the Synod on Synodality, and also, some of the very best gospel music I found this week. I hope all of it will lighten your spirits and give you hope for what’s next. Thanks be to God, He is not done with us yet. Peace be with you and yours today, friend.
Where is God working in my life? Today friends who are traveling abroad let me know that they are carrying my prayers with them in a meaningful way. God is working in the Body of Christ, helping us to care for one another, thanks be to God.
