This week on the Raised Catholic podcast, we test the Albert Einstein quote about living life as though everything is a miracle by attempting to count all of the miracles in my life on one given day, Monday, February 5th, 2024.
The experiment was both success and failure, but failure in a good way, as I quickly realized that taking a full accounting of the miracles that are delivered to our doorstep each day is impossible - there is just too much goodness to count and too much about God’s Providence that we don’t have any idea about. But there was success too, as I felt my optimism and gratitude grow with each bit of noticing I did. If we can shift to believing that everything in our life is gift, wow, that really would change everything.
And what an amazing Lenten discipline that would be!
